The BFA and BA programs are assigned art history courses to widen students understanding of art in its historical, social, economic, scientific, and political contexts. The Department also offers a minor in art history. Students pursuing a minor in art history do so with a number of objectives in mind, including preparation for graduate study in a field leading to research and teaching, or in the fields of museum, gallery, and arts administration and management.
